CC Strider and Dayano claim victory

Dec 22, 2012 - 12:41

CC Strider (Son de Niro x Ulster) and Dayano (Jazz x Kasparow) were the winners of the first edition of the President Dressage Cup, an ability test for four and five year old dressage horses, organized by KWPN-Zuid Holland.

The sponsor of this event, President Dressage Stables, bought CC Strider at the KWPN Select Sale. The new owner Kim Huysmans presented the son of top mare Dolly herself to the judges Marian Dorresteijn and Jacques Verkerk. No less than 54 dressage horses competed in the wonderful arena of four-in-hand-driver IJsbrand Chardon in Schipluiden.

President’s Cabola (Vivaldi x Ferro) was the runner up in the five year old division. Crespo RDH (Vivaldi x San Remo) was placed third.

Dayano, an expressive and elastic son of Jazz, was the best four year old. This stallion, bred out of a Kasparow dam, ridden by Danielle van Mierlo, is a bit built on the forehand, but riding judge Gerdine Maree didn’t feel that while trying out this wonderful horse.

Lisanne der Nederlanden rode top talented Davina DVB (Johnson x Ulft) to second place, showing an impressive trot, lots of power and posture. Long legged Desire (Citango x Jetset-D), ridden by Femke de Laat placed third.
