R.I.P. Concorde

Sep 24, 2014 - 09:46

Last night at the age of 30 years old our preferent stallion Concorde passed away. Concorde was born on 10th May 1984 with his breeder mr. L. van Diest in Son and since 1986 he was owned by his biggest fan, Kees van den Oetelaar and in co-ownership with Team Nijhof and Geb. Bosch.

Olympic Concorde himself was very succesfull at international Grand Prix level with Jos Lansink. They won the prestigious North Rhein Westfalen Preis in Aachen. They were champion of the Netherlands in 1994 and 2nd in the grand prix of Amsterdam, 2nd Darmstadt, 2nd Lanaken, 2nd in Helsink, 2nd in Gothenburg, etc.

Concorde has many approved sons and has proven himself to be a producer of an endless list of Grand Prix jumpers such as Audi's Jikke, Kathja, Conquest, Larino, Viktor, Isabella and Marius Claudius, who all jumped at 1.60 m level succesfully.

In 2003 Concorde had an incredideble achievement by having 4 offspring in the worldcup final of Las Vegas. Jikke, Conquest, Viktor and Marius claudius all were selected by winning a worldcup qualifier.

Concorde is the youngest preferent kwpn stallion ever and that is due to the hugh list of national and international offspring that he produced.

We would like to thank every body who played a role in the life of Concorde, such as the breeders, riders, grooms and his daily caretakers.
