(Lemwerder, 29.03.2016) Thousands of horse-people and families came to Lemwerder at Easter Saturday to visit the Open Day with great weather. There was a big exhibition, a great programme and the 8th foal championships with a presentation of the well-known stallions.
The families were enthusiastic about the programme in the indoor arena, vaulting was shown by the riding club "Sturmvogel Berne", the pony games were full of action, a team dressage was presented by the riding club Bettingbühren and the circus pony "Joschi" visualised two topics.
At the award ceremony of the big painting competition, a wooden horse from the initiative "Pferde-für-unsere-Kinder" (horses for our children) was presented to the winning kindergarten. A primary school in Delmenhorst was awarded with a trip to the Hamburg-Derby. Lots of children were invited to an afternoon on the stud with riding lessons and more.
In the afternoon, it became interesting for the breeders among the guests. The rather young offspring of the Sosath-stallions were competing at the 8th Lemwerderaner foal championships. The judges, Heinrich Ramsbrock and Lars Gehrmann, have seen very talented and pretty foals of different pedigrees. The Trakehner breeding leader Gehrmann commented all foals with huge expert knowledge. The colt number 8 by Casino Grande out of Chillibee by Stalypso - Caprilli, bred by Erich Stevens, became jumping champion. Lars Gehrmann was very ecstatic about this young stallion. The runner-up was number 1 a colt by Cador out of Alexis by Diarado - Argentinus, bred by Stall Troff. Placed third was number 7, a colt by Casino Grande out of Cassina by Cassini II – Cordalmé Z, bred by Rudolf Schepergerdes.
In the dressage championships number 21, a filly by Florenz out of Del Kathy by Del Piero – Katamaran xx, bred by Walter Naehring, won. The runner-up was number 22, a colt by Honoré du Soir out of Frisia II by Florencio – Friesenstern, bred by Gerd Folkers. Placed third was number 17, a colt by Beniro out of Flying Dancer by Fidertanz – Likoto xx, bred by Viktor Freese and Doreen Metzler.
In between the foal championships the Sosath-stallions were presented to the guests, who were impressed by the age-appropriate training of the youngsters. The well-known stallions Casino Berlin, Casalido, Casino Grande, Diamant de Plaisir, Casirus, Ogano, Cador and Clintissimo have shown their talent at some fences. The youngster Diamant de Landor was presented age-appropriated between the jumps. The dressage stallions Beniro, Florenz, Honoré du Soir, Devonport and Adoro have shown their amazing movements in a great performance.
Beside the programme in the indoor arena, there was a great exhibition around the stud with various stands. More than 50 exhibitors presented their goods, like sculptures, wooden work, jewellery and argricultural engines.
The whole day, the guests could have had a look on the work of a blacksmith, two veterinarians, a horse-physiotherapist and a dental technician. The first time the Equusir-Best-Box was shown by Michael Dierks, a new possibility for therapy by light frequencies.
For all the kids the stud prepared a kids-corner with pony rides and a little petting zoo with different animals.
