The 9-year-old Holsteiner gelding Private Practice by Lordanos and Victoria Colvin were able to win the well-known Devon Grand Hunter Championships and won the Fourth Sally Deaver Murray Memorial Challenge Trophy as well, after their fantastic rounds throughout two days of competition. Although competition on the second day was close, with Scott Stewart and Catch me by Casiro winning the main class of the day, Private Practice and Victoria Colvin securing their championship win.
Originally trained as a jumper, Private Practice has made quite a name for himself in the hunter classes. In 2018, he won the USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship. Since then, the pair have won different hunter classes, including the $100,000 WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular during the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, Florida in February 2019.
Victoria Colvin says about Private Practice:
“He always rises to the occasion. He is a really spectacular horse. He had a little bit of a jumper background, so he always comes in and impresses everyday. He is never spooky, he will always jump anything, but he never gets bored with the jumps. He’s never get plain. He still jumps every jump like he’s never seen it before. He is pretty special.”
