31.000 Euro for colt by Van Primero
At the 1st Sosath Online-Auction, 30 foals and five broodmares were auctioned.
Valentino by Van Primero x Ampère x Donnerschwee out of the direct line of Stedinger was sold for 31.000 Euro to Helgstrand Dressage. The beautiful black colt was the most expensive foal within a high quality auction collection.
Number 1, a colt by Comme Prévu, achieved the highest price in the jumping foal selection. He is sold for 18.000 Euro to the stallion owner Gerd Sosath. He bought this stallion prospect for his own stable. Chaplin is bred by the highly successful breeder family Rippe-Lachnit out of the same dam line like two times "Bundeschampion" Diaron OLD
The average price for all foals was 8.200 Euros plus VAT. The interested persons came from 14 different nations all over the world. “The first online auction was a success. Our breeders have sold their foals from Holstein to Bavaria and abroad. One foal will even travel to Jordan", Gerd Sosath said. “We immediately received phone calls from happy buyers who had bought a hopeful stallion prospect or a promising broodmare at the auction. Next year, we will host an auction again to give our breeders the chance to promote their foals.”
The breeders had no costs or deductions at the auction. In addition to the disclosed price, they also received the VAT. “For our breeders it couldn't have been more comfortable. The video clips were directly made at the foal show and nobody had to load the foal again. We promoted the auction all over the world and invested a lot in marketing activities. Our website as well as the site of the auction house were clicked more than 100.000 times", the stallion owner is pleased about the great interest. Not every breeder could achieve the minimum price they hoped for, but there were bids on every foal.
The cooperation with ehorses and the auction house Dechow/Troostwijk was exemplary. There were no problems with registration or bidding.
